I’m painting pictures in my head
Of the sea, of the forest, of the beach
Of all the places I wish to be with you
Hidden scenarios of an alternative reality
Where we share everything equally
Pretending to fight, tumbling around
Our bodies pressing tightly together emotionally

When I see your back facing me
I feel like shuffling up behind you
And running my fingers down your spine
To finally move in closer to embrace you
But this time around, it is a feeling of fear
Filling my body, filling my eyes, gripping me
This time around, I know that it’s only telling me that
You’re about to disappear

There are only a few moments of silence left
Before it is too late to break it

I want you
Not to leave tonight
I want you
To stay right by my side
I want you
To give me that shining smile
I want you
And that is all
